Puzzle cube mural made on Baisakhi
Baisakhi is a vibrant festival celebrated on April 13 or 14 every year, marking the harvest season in Punjab and the founding of the Khalsa by Guru Gobind Singh in 1699. It is a day of great joy, with Gurdwaras holding special prayers, processions (Nagar Kirtans), and community feasts (Langars). Farmers celebrate their successful harvest with energetic Bhangra and Gidda dance performances.
Its dual significance—while it is a major Sikh religious festival, it is also widely celebrated as a harvest festival across northern India. In many places, the day is observed with fairs, folk music, and traditional festivities, making it a unique blend of spiritual devotion and cultural celebration.
