Kazi Nazrul Islam was a Bengali poet, writer, and musician known as the “Rebel Poet” for his revolutionary works against oppression and injustice. He was born on May 25, 1899, in present-day India and played a significant role in inspiring the freedom movement through his writings.

His poetry, songs, and essays promoted equality, secularism, and social justice. He wrote powerful works like “Bidrohi” (The Rebel) and numerous patriotic songs, earning him great respect. Later in life, he suffered from a neurological illness that affected his ability to write and speak. He spent his final years in Bangladesh, where he was honored as the National Poet. His legacy continues to inspire movements for justice and equality.
