Buddha Jayanti, also known as Vesak, marks the birth, enlightenment, and death of Lord Buddha, all believed to have occurred on the same full moon day. Born as Prince Siddhartha, he renounced worldly pleasures in search of truth and attained enlightenment under the Bodhi tree, becoming the Buddha—“The Awakened One.”
