Puzzle cube mural of Vaishnav Mata
Chaitra Navratri is a nine-day Hindu festival that marks the beginning of the Hindu New Year and is dedicated to the worship of Goddess Durga and her nine divine forms. It falls in the Chaitra month (March-April) of the Hindu lunar calendar and culminates on Ram Navami, the birthday of Lord Rama. Devotees observe fasting, perform rituals, and chant prayers to seek blessings for health, prosperity, and spiritual growth.
During this period, temples are adorned with decorations, and many people engage in Kalash Sthapana (Ghatasthapana), reciting the Durga Saptashati, and organizing Ram Katha or bhajan sessions. The festival signifies the victory of good over evil and encourages self-discipline and devotion. It is widely celebrated across India, especially in states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, and Gujarat.
