Eid-ul-Fitr, also known as the “Festival of Breaking the Fast,” is one of the most significant Islamic celebrations, marking the end of Ramadan, the holy month of fasting. It is a day of joy, gratitude, and unity, beginning with a special prayer at mosques, followed by feasts, giving of Zakat al-Fitr (charity to the poor), and visiting loved ones. Traditional sweets like sewaiyan (vermicelli pudding) are prepared and shared.

Its universal spirit of generosity and equality—Muslims are required to give charity before the Eid prayer, ensuring that even the less fortunate can celebrate. The festival also serves as a beautiful reminder of self-discipline, empathy, and gratitude cultivated during Ramadan.
