Puzzle cube mosaic of Ernő Rubik
To kick off 2025 with creativity and innovation, our first mural of the year honored Erno Rubik, the inventor of the iconic Rubik’s Cube. This vibrant mural marked not just the start of a new year, but a renewed celebration of logic, problem-solving, and imagination. The artwork was designed to inspire both new learners and cube lovers alike, echoing Rubik’s vision of curiosity-driven discovery.
Despite being globally famous, Erno Rubik originally built the cube not as a toy, but as a tool to teach 3D geometry to his architecture students in Budapest! It wasn’t until a few years later that he realized it could be mass-produced. That same spirit of unexpected brilliance is what our young artists tapped into—none of them had formal art training, and yet they brought a world-famous inventor’s face to life using nothing but colored plastic and perseverance. Now that’s the magic of the cube.
