Puzzle cube mural made on Guru Purnima
Guru Dronacharya was a revered teacher and master of advanced military arts in the Mahabharata. He was the royal guru of the Kauravas and Pandavas, imparting lessons in warfare, archery, and strategy. Known for his unparalleled skill, he was especially fond of Arjuna, recognizing his dedication and talent. However, his unwavering commitment to his duty sometimes led to moral dilemmas, such as his unfair treatment of Ekalavya and his reluctant participation in the Kurukshetra war.
Despite his wisdom, Dronacharya’s loyalty to the throne of Hastinapura ultimately led to his downfall. He played a crucial role in shaping the warriors of the epic, but his favoritism and rigid adherence to dharma created conflicts. His death in battle, caused by a deceptive tactic involving his son Ashwatthama’s name, marked a turning point in the war. Even today, he is remembered as a symbol of both excellence in teaching and the complexities of duty and morality.
