International Moon Day, celebrated on July 20, marks the anniversary of the historic Apollo 11 Moon landing in 1969, when humans first set foot on the lunar surface. Established by the United Nations in 2021, this day highlights the importance of lunar exploration, scientific advancements, and future missions to the Moon.

The Moon is set to become a hub for future space exploration, with NASA’s Artemis program planning to land humans on the Moon again by 2026, including the first woman and the first person of color. The Moon remains a gateway for deeper space missions, including Mars exploration!
