Rubik’s cube mural of Tiger Cub
International Tiger Day, observed on July 29, aims to raise awareness about tiger conservation and the need to protect their habitats. With tigers being an endangered species, this day highlights efforts to increase their population and prevent poaching and habitat destruction. India, home to over 70% of the world’s tigers, plays a crucial role in their conservation through initiatives like Project Tiger.
The global tiger population was once below 3,200 in 2010, but due to conservation efforts, their numbers have been rising. India alone recorded over 3,100 tigers in 2022, making it one of the greatest wildlife recovery stories. Saving tigers means saving entire ecosystems!
