Rubik’s cube mural of Shaheed Udham Singh
Shaheed Udham Singh was a fearless revolutionary who avenged the Jallianwala Bagh massacre (1919) by assassinating Michael O’Dwyer, the former Lieutenant Governor of Punjab, in London (1940). His act was not just revenge but a symbol of India’s resistance against British oppression. Despite being arrested and executed, he remained defiant and proud, declaring himself a “fighter for freedom.”
He used multiple aliases, including “Ram Mohammad Singh Azad,” representing Hindu, Muslim, and Sikh unity. His sacrifice continues to inspire Indians as a symbol of patriotism and unwavering courage.
