Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Jayanti – An outreach activity

The Power of Opportunity: IFC at NSCB College

On January 23, 2026, the Innovation for Change (IFC) team and the Pixels for Charity (PFC) project celebrated the birth anniversary of the legendary freedom fighter, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, through a unique blend of art and intellect.

A Warm Welcome and Visionary Support
The event was made possible through the kind permission of the college Principal, Prof. Rashmi Bishnoi. After learning about the mission of IFC and the Pixels for Charity initiative, she was deeply impressed by the children’s journey and graciously carved out an hour from the busy examination schedule (12:00 PM to 1:00 PM) for the activity.

Upon arrival, our team was welcomed by college coordinators Ms. Shalini Srivastava and Ms. Shweta Bhardwaj. Prof. Bishnoi took the time to personally interact with the children, making them feel valued and comfortable.

Speed, Skill, and Artistry
Under the guidance of IFC teacher Mr. Deepak and student leaders Abhishek Kashyap (Senior Coordinator) and Mahek Kannaujia (Coordinator), the team showcased incredible efficiency. The children completed a stunning Rubik’s Cube mural of Netaji in just 20 minutes.

A Powerful Message of Potential
The most remarkable aspect of this event wasn’t just the art, but the artists themselves. These IFC students come from deprived backgrounds; their parents are daily wage laborers, house helpers, or work in small, unstable jobs. In many cases, these children have faced significant obstacles that most would find daunting.

However, their performance at the college proved a vital point: talent is universal, even if opportunity is not. Their incredible skill with the Rubik’s Cube serves as a living testament that if given a chance and the right mentorship, anyone can achieve greatness, regardless of their socio-economic status.

Inspiring the Spectators
The activity drew a crowd of faculty members, students, and NCC Cadets, all of whom were mesmerized by the children’s speed and focus. The NCC Cadets were particularly intrigued, asking the children about their training and requesting live demonstrations. The way these young students solved complex puzzles with lightning-fast precision left the audience in awe, earning them a standing ovation and rounds of applause.

“The hospitality of the Principal and staff was the highlight for us. They made our team feel so comfortable that the entire activity felt like a celebration of talent and resilience.” — PFC Team
