Rubik’s cube mosaic made of Onam
Onam is a vibrant and significant festival celebrated primarily in the Indian state of Kerala. It marks the harvest season and commemorates the homecoming of the mythical King Mahabali, whose reign is remembered as a time of prosperity, happiness, and equality. The festival spans over ten days with beautiful traditions like Pookalam (floral rangoli), Vallam Kali (boat races), traditional dance forms like Thiruvathira, and the grand feast called Onam Sadya, served on banana leaves.
To capture the festive spirit, a mural was created showcasing the joyful essence of Onam — the lively boat races, colorful Pookalam designs, and the welcoming of King Mahabali. The mural not only highlights the cultural richness of Kerala but also serves as a reminder of the values of unity, abundance, and gratitude that Onam symbolizes. It creates a space for people, especially young ones, to learn about the traditions and stories that make this festival so cherished.
