Our Work
At PixelsForCharity, we believe learning can be playful, creative, and deeply transformative. Through pixel art and STEM-based activities, we turn everyday objects into powerful learning tools — from Rubik’s Cubes to beads and dice. These hands-on projects spark creativity, build problem-solving skills, and foster teamwork — especially among children from underserved communities. As they learn, they also create: murals, public art, and moments of pride.
PixelsForCharity program runs under the aegis of Sciencekriti, a Non-Government Organisation the objectives of which are to promote STEM, art & culture, responsible nationalism and gender equality. PixelsForCharity covers all these objectives successfully.
Pixellated Murals
Pixellated Murals is a super-fun project in which children create photo mosaic art with the 3×3 puzzle cube, also known as magic cube. The project is being implemented at Innovative Pathshala, an education center for underprivilidged children locate at Bhawanigyunj slum, Lucknow city, India.
NOTE: These are not the official Rubik’s® Cubes but the same three-dimensional puzzle toys. The original toy was made by Ernő Rubik, a Hungarian architect and inventor. RUBIK’S® trademark is now owned by Spin Master Toys UK Limited.
Outreach
A showcase of milestones — from mural displays to features on national media. This section highlights proud moments when our children stepped into the public eye, proving what’s possible when talent meets opportunity.
Speedy Pixels
A thrilling speed-cubing competition where kids race against time — sharpening their minds, building confidence, and celebrating their speed skills in a playful way.
Sticky Pixels
A fun and hands-on pixel art activity where kids create vibrant images using sticker grids. It’s a simple, screen-free way to explore structure, color, and creativity — no tech required!
Beaded Pixels
Children thread colorful beads to form beautiful murals, which double as home décor. The process teaches patience, precision, and pride in handmade creativity.
Fill the Pixels
Specially designed for nursery and early learners, this activity helps little hands explore grip, focus, and color recognition. Children color each square in a grid using basic shades — introducing them to patterns, primary colors, and the joy of completing their first pixel art.
Dicey Pixels
Children arrange thousands of black and white dice to create stunning pixel murals.
With just two colors, they bring out depth, detail, and bold contrast.
This project aims to break records with the largest dice mural ever made by slum children.
