Puzzle cube mural of Santa Claus
Santa Claus, also known as Saint Nicholas, Father Christmas, or Kris Kringle, is a legendary figure who brings gifts to children on Christmas Eve. His modern image—a jolly, white-bearded man in a red suit—was popularized in the 19th and 20th centuries, especially by Coca-Cola’s advertisements. The legend is based on Saint Nicholas of Myra, a kind-hearted bishop from the 4th century who was known for his generosity, especially toward children and the poor. Over time, folklore and traditions shaped Santa into the magical gift-giver we know today, traveling the world in a sleigh pulled by reindeer and delivering presents through chimneys.
Santa Claus is a real town called “Santa Claus” in Indiana, USA, where thousands of letters addressed to Santa arrive every year. Volunteers, known as “Santa’s Elves,” reply to as many letters as possible, keeping the Christmas spirit alive. Additionally, NORAD (North American Aerospace Defense Command) has been tracking Santa’s journey across the globe since 1955, when a misprinted newspaper ad led children to call a military hotline, and the tradition continues to this day!
