Puzzle cube mosaic of frog
The frog is an amphibian known for its distinctive croak and incredible jumping ability. Frogs are found in a wide range of habitats, from ponds and lakes to forests and grasslands. They undergo a fascinating life cycle, starting as tadpoles (larvae) that breathe through gills and eventually metamorphose into adult frogs with lungs and legs. Frogs play a crucial role in ecosystems as both predators (eating insects) and prey for various animals.
Frogs’s some species can survive freezing temperatures. For example, the wood frog in North America can tolerate being frozen solid during winter, with its heart temporarily stopping and its body entering a state of suspended animation. When the temperature rises, the frog “thaws” and resumes its normal activities. This extraordinary adaptation helps frogs survive in harsh climates, showcasing nature’s remarkable ability to cope with extreme conditions.
