Puzzle cube mosaic of snake

The snake is a fascinating reptile known for its elongated, legless body and incredible adaptability to various environments, from deserts to rainforests. Snakes are found all over the world except in Antarctica, Iceland, Ireland, and New Zealand. They are carnivorous and use a wide range of hunting strategies, such as constricting their prey or injecting venom. The king cobra, for instance, is the longest venomous snake, capable of reaching lengths up to 18 feet.

Snakes can sense heat through special pits on their face, known as pit organs, which allow certain species, like pythons and vipers, to detect the body heat of warm-blooded animals, even in total darkness. Additionally, some snakes can swallow prey much larger than their head thanks to their highly flexible jaws. Their ability to “dislocate” their jaw enables them to consume prey that is many times their size.
