Puzzle cube mural made on World Cancer Day

World Cancer Day is observed on February 4th every year to raise awareness, encourage prevention, and promote early detection and treatment of cancer. Led by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), this global initiative aims to reduce cancer-related suffering and eliminate myths surrounding the disease. With the theme “Close the Care Gap,” recent campaigns focus on equity in healthcare, ensuring that everyone, regardless of background or income, has access to proper treatment and support.

Cancer is often considered one of the toughest battles, but early detection can prevent nearly one-third of all cancers. In some cases, even laughter therapy and positive thinking have shown significant improvements in patients’ well-being. On this day, millions unite to spread hope, support survivors, and encourage healthier lifestyles, reinforcing the idea that together, we can make a world without cancer a reality.
